Director's Message

Dear HumBio Community,

As I sit in my office, looking out at the main quad, I still can't quite believe that we are back. Seeing students walking around, talking, laughing, and getting acquainted with campus once again is an absolute joy. We are back!!

I am delighted to be back in the classroom with our students (all of us masked), getting together and catching up with students and faculty, and getting back to the wonderful work that we all engage in here at Stanford.

We in Human Biology continue our mission of providing an extraordinary education to our extraordinary students back on our beautiful Stanford campus.

The 2022 Gelles Senior Symposium

The Program in Human Biology is looking forward to hosting the 2022 Gelles Senior Symposium in person, where Senior Synthesis and Honors students will present their work.

The symposium will take place on Friday, May 13th from 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM in the Cypress Lounge (Tresidder Union, 2nd floor).

The symposium is open to the public.

2 HumBio Graduates Chosen as 2022 Knight-Hennessy Scholars

A huge congratulations to Brandon Hwa-Lin Bergsneider ’20 and Ezra Yoseph ’21 who were chosen as 2022 Knight-Hennessy Scholars! Brandon and Ezra will both be pursuing their MDs at Stanford School of Medicine in the fall. Congratulations to you both; we cannot wait to see what you accomplish in the future!
