Hello lovely HumBio humans! My name is Bobby Radecki, I use she/her pronouns, and I’m thrilled to be one of your SAs for the 2019 - 2020 academic school year! I stumbled into the core as a sophomore still exploring majors, thinking about everything from psychology to architecture. However, through my involvement in the queer community on-campus and working in a lab studying neurodevelopment in transgender youth, I fell in love with HumBio and realized it could perfectly combine my personal, extracurricular, and academic passions. Today, my concentration is “Pediatric Queer and Trans Health and Development,” and I’ve taken a lot of classes about sex and gender in medicine. I will also be pursing an honors thesis on structural brain differences and psychiatric disorders in trans youth beginning hormone therapy. My goal is to become a doctor that advocates for and serves the queer and trans community!
Along with being an SA, this year I’ll be leading the Trans & group at QSR for gender non-conforming students on campus, living and staffing at the Bridge (the peer counseling center), volunteering at the children’s hospital, and leading camping trips through the outdoor center. In my free time, I’m training to get my pilot’s license, and I love to binge-watch anime, cook yummy vegan foods, listen to Lady Gaga on repeat, and hit the punching bag at the gym. I’m so excited to get to know you - please reach out, come to my office hours, and maybe we can grab a coffee sometime!
