Tami Alade, Cat Sanchez & Grayson Throckmorton win James W. Lyons Award for service

Join Human Biology in congratulating Grayson, Tami and Cat (pictured from left to right). They are three of eight Stanford students who were honored with 2019 James W. Lyons Awards.

The award recognizes the late JAMES LYONS, who served as Stanford dean of students. This award is given for service to the Stanford and the surrounding communities through departments, teams, clubs residences and community projects.

TAMI ALADE was recognized for integrating service as a meaningful component to the student-athlete experience through the Stanford Student Athletes Advisory Committee and for creating a community partnership with local school districts, promoting childhood literacy and fitness through engagement with Stanford student-athletes.

CAT SANCHEZ was recognized for her leadership as co-chair of the Board on Judicial Affairs and contributions to the Office of Community Standards during a time of transition. She was cited for advocating for an equitable process for all students.

GRAYSON THROCKMORTON was recognized for a commitment to making Stanford a healthier place through work with the Office of Alcohol Policy and Education, Cardinal Nights, the Alcohol Solutions Group and the Stanford Medical Youth Science program, which assists first-generation andor low-income high school students to pursue careers in medicine.
