Roeland Nusse, professor of developmental biology, has been awarded a $3 million Breakthrough Prize for helping to decode how Wnt signaling proteins affect embryonic development, cancer and tissue-specific stem cells. Nusse teaches HumBio Core course 3A, Developmental Biology in the winter quarter.

Professor Sanford M. Dornbusch, one of the founding members of Human Biology, recently passed away on February 9th. Dornbusch was the Reed-Hodgson Professor in Human Biology, Emeritus, as well as a Professor Emeritus in Sociology.
