The 2026 Stanford Commencement Weekend will be held from June 11 - 14, 2026.

The Human Biology Diploma Ceremony and Reception will take place on Sunday, June 14. The reception will be from 12:15 - 2:00 pm on the Main Quad outside Buildings 30, 40 and 50. The ceremony will take place at 2:30 pm inside MemChu and will last approximately one hour. Please note: Entry to MemChu will not be permitted before 2:00 pm, as another ceremony will be taking place.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation in ensuring a smooth and successful celebration. In preparation, here are a few important details you need to know:

SENIOR CELEBRATION & GRAD WALKTHROUGH: MemChu, Main Quad outside Bldg 20
Date: Thursday, June 11th
Start time: 1:00 pm

Our Senior Celebration is on Thursday, June 11th from 1:00 - 2:30 PM. We will begin our event with a walkthrough to go over important details for our diploma ceremony. We ask that you please meet us at 1:00 pm in front of Memorial Church. Attendance is very strongly encouraged to ensure graduates are fully prepared for the big day and that everything runs smoothly. Following the walkthrough, join us over at the HumBio building to celebrate with your classmates, take a Class of 2026 group photo (at 1:45pm), enjoy some sweet treats, and receive your senior gift! This event is only for graduates walking in the Diploma Ceremony.

RECEPTION: Main Quad, outside Buildings 30, 40, and 50
Date: Sunday, June 14th
Start time: 12:15 pm

  • The reception will be held outdoors in the Main Quad, which is on the left side of MemChu (when facing the main entrance).
  • A light lunch and refreshments will be served.
  • Due to the location of our reception, you may be in direct sunlight with minimal shade. Please plan accordingly and bring hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
  • No tickets or RSVPs are required.
  • We invite graduates, families, and friends to mingle, enjoy the refreshments, take photos with each other and with faculty members, and celebrate!

DIPLOMA CEREMONY: MemChu, Main Quad
Date: Sunday, June 14th
Start time: 2:30 pm. Doors open by 2:00 pm

  • The ceremony will be held indoors at MemChu, a historic and beautiful space located in the heart of campus.
  • No entry to MemChu will be allowed before 2:00pm due to another ceremony in progress.
  • Important Attendance Policy: Each graduate is strictly limited to a maximum of 8 guests due to venue restrictions. We strongly urge all graduates to honor this limit in respect for their classmates and their families. Your cooperation ensures that everyone can celebrate this special day comfortably and safely.
  • There is a strict no food or beverage policy; only bottled water will be allowed inside the venue.
  • Guest seating is directly behind the reserved graduate seating and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Reserved accessible seating is available at the front on the left and right sides of the main sanctuary area.
    • An accessible entrance with an automatic door is located on the left side of the building (when facing the main entrance). Once through this entrance, continue through the door on the right to enter the main area of the building. A staff member will be present to assist you.
  • Professional photographers will be on-site taking photos of each graduate with the director during the ceremony. These photos will be available for viewing and purchasing after the ceremony on the GradImages website. Graduates will also be asked to provide their email address to receive this information directly from GradImages (optional).
  • Public restrooms are available directly behind the church (all gender and women’s restrooms to the right and men’s restrooms to the left when facing the main entrance). A wheelchair-accessible single-occupancy, all-gender restroom is also located just inside the accessible entrance at the rear of the church on the left once inside the entrance.
  • Please note: Immediately after our diploma ceremony, the Stanford Chamber Chorale will be holding a concert in MemChu. We kindly ask that guests and graduates who are not staying for the performance exit the church in a timely manner to accommodate those attending the concert. Your cooperation helps ensure a smooth transition between events and shows respect for both the performers and audience members.
  • Please do not bring any large items that may block the views of other guests or graduates in attendance.

We look forward to this ceremony, which will be a unique opportunity for our faculty, graduates, families, and friends to celebrate our graduates' hard work, dedication, and this momentous milestone. We are all so very proud!
