Hi HumBio! My name is Nikhil, and I’m a senior majoring in HumBio with a minor in Music. I grew up in Mequon, WI, and I’m so excited to be a Student Advisor this year. This is actually my fifth year at Stanford, due to the fact that I switched my major to HumBio in the end of my junior year. I definitely haven’t taken the conventional path through the major, but because of the flexibility and support that HumBio provides, I’ve been able to study what is truly fulfilling to me. I’m passionate about child health, and study how infectious diseases affect both children and their mothers. Accordingly, my Area of Concentration is Immunity and Global Child Health, which has led me to take a ton of exciting classes in pediatrics and public health. I have worked in a pediatric infectious disease lab in the Med School as well as a rural development non-profit in Bhopal, India. Outside of HumBio, I am passionate about music, and play the piano and cello. I am involved in Camp Kesem and SImps, was an RA in Burbank, the FM in Casa Italiana, played in the Stanford Symphony Orchestra, and am a Stanford Tour Guide. After undergrad, I plan on pursuing a master’s in Epidemiology and eventually hope to go to medical school to be a pediatrician. So please come and visit—I’m excited to meet all of you and help you navigate your HumBio journey!
