Hi all! I’m Leigh, a dancer, drummer, painter, and Humbio major from Marin County, CA. When I came to Stanford, I was sure that I wanted to be a doctor. After the Humbio core, I saw that I could make a more upstream impact on health by studying public health, health interventions, and preventative healthcare. Because of this, I chose to concentrate in Design for Human Health Behaviors, an A/C that challenged me to take a human-centered design approach to healthcare and think about how we can leverage the mass of research and resources we already have to help individuals and communities make lasting health behavior changes. I hope to eventually work in foreign countries where I can contribute to public health projects, namely family planning interventions. Some of my communities at Stanford besides my Humbio family were the Stanford Dollies, Camp Kesem, 576 Alvarado, Tour Guides, the LSJUMB drumline, and Urban Styles Dance Company. I’m so thrilled to be on this journey alongside you as you dig deeper into your passion for Humbio and learn how to apply what you study, question what you hear, think critically, and make the biggest impact possible. Here we go!
